Since I had my first child, I have been fascinated with taking pictures of children. They are in a constant state of change, the very essence of childhood. I try to capture the moment that defines who the child is at that point in time. I love catching them in discovery. My favorite moments are when a parent sees their proofs for the first time and say s, "That's him! That's exactly what he's like!" This documentary style is combined with controlled lighting designed to wrap around and embrace the subject, bringing out the depth and dimension of a baby's cheek, the mystery of a smile half-hidden in shadow, or the curved outline of a pregnant belly.
